Blizzard announced in November 2022 that it would suspend its game services in China due to the expiration of its licensing agreements with NetEas. The relaunch of Blizzard games in China may have to wait for at least six months. Chinese online gaming behemoths Tencent Holdings Ltd TCEHY and NetEase Inc NTES saw their shares rally after Chinese regulators indicated a possible revision of the proposed regulations that had earlier caused gaming stocks to plummet. Tencent shares in Hong Kong surged by 3% following a 12% slump last Friday.
